What's included in the price?
The price includes full use of the property and the garden for the time of your stay.

The cottages are well equipped with as much as we can think of to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. There are TVs, DVDs, CD players and radios for entertainment, plus plenty of games and books.  The kitchens are supplied with a wide variety of  utensils, pans and dishes together with serving dishes, table linen, glasses and cutlery. To help with the preparation there is a microwave and the dishwasher will help to minimise the clearing up.

We supply top quality bed linen and luxury towels, so no need to bring your own unless you are planning a lot of muddy, outdoor activities or you have a dog, in which case it would be prudent  to pack a few extra of your own.

Each cottage has full central heating and constant hot water. The cost of the utilities is included in the price and logs are supplied during the appropriate season for the fires.

The telephone lines are connected for use when your mobiles fail. The Cotswolds are something of a phone desert so we make sure that you have the number of your cottage in advance in case people need to reach you. Use of the landlines is complementary. We merely ask that, if you know you have made heavy, expensive use of the phone, you leave a contribution to the bill when you go. Please do not feel that you need to leave money for the odd telephone call.

We leave a supply of the basics for you to use: loo rolls, bin bags, basic cleaning products etc. We do not leave food, except for condiments, unless specifically requested to do so. We find that people prefer to bring their own and do not use odds and ends of leftovers.

There are books, toys, games and videos for all the family to enjoy.

Cleaning
The cottage will be thoroughly cleaned and the beds made up ready for your arrival.

Each property has a washer/dryer for your personal use. We do not expect [or want] you to start washing the sheets. That is all taken care of by our cleaners when you leave and is included in the cost of your holiday.
cotswold holiday cottages Children
We hope that your children enjoy the experience of the countryside. With luck, the weather will be kind to you so that you can spend time in the garden or out walking in the fresh air. However, we have left a selection of games that we hope will entertain them plus some DVDs and CDs.

Small children need to be carefully supervised on the spiral staircases. They are so old and misshapen that modern child gates do not fit, so please do take extra care! It goes without saying that they need to be kept an eye on at all times and that we cannot accept responsibility for any mishaps. At The Old Mill, there is a little stream and a pond.  It goes without saying that your children should not be left unattended either outside or in.

There are some wonderful playgrounds within easy reach of the cottages. Bisley has its own, small playground. Oakridge has one that has been equipped with terrific apparatus that was paid for by the local community. However, the playground in Chalford remains for me the most magical of the three. It has plenty of things to climb and play with, plus 2 little streams enclosing it, a copse to hide in and a swing across the brook. Clearly, a parental eye is needed for piratical adventures but - carefully supervised - this playground is a wonderland for kids.

Pets
We are animal lovers and are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs.  There is a supply of nappy sacks left in each property. Please use these to clear up after your dogs if they use the garden as a loo. The next guests may have children and, in any case, dog poo is not attractive!

The Deposit
The £150 damage deposit is returned to you by cheque within 7 days of your departure subject to any necessary deductions. If you would prefer the money to be refunded onto your card or paid directly into your bank account, can you please let us know well in advance? We do not charge for accidents and/or small breakages, only malicious or reckless damage. In our many years of letting we have only ever had to resort to a deposit on two occasions!

Cancellation
Your deposit is non-refundable and we urge you to take out holiday insurance in case the unexpected comes up and alters your plans. For just a few pounds, you can have complete peace of mind and guard against losing money. Please use the link on our website or contact us, if you need help with this.

How to get here
We will forward you specific directions, with the instructions for getting in when you arrive, well before you are due to leave. However, you can print out your own door to door road maps and directions here: The Old Mill, Rose Cottage, Blandfords . This may help if several of you are meeting up and are approaching from different directions.

If you want to come by train, the nearest railway station is in Stroud. There is a taxi company just outside the station, should you need it .

National Express buses can often be more convenient than the train if you are travelling across country so it's worth a look at their Website to see what they have to offer when you are planning your journey.
