]]>The Old Mill and Blandfords, our two period cottages, are next to each other in Oakridge Lynch, a delightful village located in the South Cotswolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. They can be taken together for large parties of around 28. For additional accommodation, you can also rent The Snuggery, a small flat just across the road.

Both the cottages are old – early eighteenth century – and have many lovely period features such as mullioned windows, oak beams, tiny doorways and spiral stairs. These do, however, mean that they are not suitable for some guests. If you have any special requirements, please contact us before you book.
When you arrive, you will find the beds – which can unzip and suit either couples or singles – made up with freshly laundered bedlinen. A fluffy bath sheet and hand towel is provided for each guest plus bath mats and teatowels. In winter, the heating will have been left on the day before you arrive so the house will be cosy and warm. Both cottages have central heating but there are plenty of logs left for your use. There is nothing quite like a real fire!
The cottages are self-catering so you need to bring your own food and provisions. Generous fridges and good cupboard space should swallow up your supplies and the dishwashers will cope with the washing up. Pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware are plentiful.
We specialise in weekend breaks and our standard weekend runs from Friday after 3pm to Monday at 10am. Changeover days are both Monday and Friday so, if you want a week or a fortnight, you can chose either day to begin your holiday on. If you have any special requests, please call and ask. If we can be flexible, we will. For the growing number of corporate guests who want an off site venue that is more personal than a hotel, we can offer very attractive rates midweek.
]]>It goes without saying that your pets must be well behaved. We assume that both dogs and owners are civilised. We leave a large quantity of plastic bags and ask you to make sure that you clear up after your dog. People with children also stay in our properties and we do not want the kiddies exposed to dog mess.
]]>In each cottage, we do have some rainy day emergency supplies of toys, games and DVDs that should keep them occupied if you have to stay inside.
We can supply one or two cots [depending on which cottage you are staying in] for babies but please note these are travel cots NOT full sized wooden cots which would not be practical for us to keep in the bedrooms permanently. We do not supply baby bedding. We find that people prefer to bring their own
We can also supply high chairs, if requested.
The gardens are sunny and pleasant for children to play in. However, it goes without saying that your children must be supervised at all times. In The Old Mill there is a little stream and a small waterfall, also stone steps which can get slippery. Blandfords has steps down from the decking. None of these are obstacle courses but you do need to keep an eye on your kids at all times.
Each village has its own recreation ground with swings and apparatus. In addition, there is a wonderful children’s play area in Chalford, a village at the bottom of the Golden Valley and close to Oakridge.
]]>In addition, here are some activites that we can arrange:
We use synthetic fibres for our duvets and pillows because so many people seem to be allergic to feathers. The bedlinen is a polycotton mix, laundered professionally as are the fluffy white towels.
